Stéphanie Anthonioz replace le prophétisme au sein de la divination et évalue ainsi la diversité des professionnels de la prophétie dans l’Orient ancien. Stéphanie Anthonioz restores prophesying to its divinatory roots and explores the diversity of professional prophets in the ancient East. Studying the ancient Semitic prophetic sources reveals the construction and originality of specifically Biblical prophesying. In this way, it stands apart from socio-religious and ancient cultural phenomena. And, as they were written down, prophesies could be reread and contextualized, hence becoming a ‘living’ word.
